Stars Change Us

“If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night, I’ll bet they’d live a lot differently.” I love simple truths like this, especially when they come in an unlikely and unexpected way (a comic strip, in this case). When we stare up into the infinite vastness of Space we begin to see that maybe, just maybe…

  • our problems aren’t quite as big as we make them out to be
  • the Universe doesn’t revolve around us
  • there is light in the darkness, even if for a time clouds shroud the stars
  • there’s something more beyond this life
  • we each have a destiny and a purpose
  • if we have to sacrifice our peace and contentment for something, it’s not worth it
  • the only way to truly live is in the moment

I painted “Camping Under the Stars” at Brush Studio, a social guided painting class. It only took a couple hours, but it has turned out to be one of my favorites 🙂
