Apocalypse in Our Lifetime?

ISIS is taking over Baghdad, murdering thousands and spreading a reign of terror in its wake, and we may be be on the verge of a global pandemic, as already more than four-thousand people have died of the deadly Ebola virus. Today a second infected healthcare worker in Dallas has just been confirmed. Some predict the end of the world is near, quoting scriptures that prophesy “the moon will become like blood” on Judgment Day, as the fourth blood moon will appear in September of next year (Joel 2:31, Revelations 6:12).

Below is an excellent video explaining Blood Moons and their prophetic significance. You can also checkout Stakelbeck’s article on CBN News here.

While I’m no Biblical scholar, I do know that God created the sun, moon, and stars to not only bring light to the world but to also serve as signs of what is to come (Genesis 1:14). Wars are becoming progressively worse, natural disasters are increasing in strength and frequency, there are few antibiotics left to treat multi-drug resistant organisms, and entire nations are becoming increasingly worldly and rebellious against the things of God.

I know that “the day of the Lord is near,” whether it’s in the next few years or a thousand years, and I want to be prepared. I will not give in to the fear that is so prevalent during this time of war and disease, because God has given me a spirit of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)!
